"haunted doll" on ebay

This is silly. This is one of several "haunted dolls" on ebay at present. I think it is really funny how people fall for this scammy-scam. The seller, allthekids4 like many other ebay sellers have used some sort of a photo-shop like program to alter the images so that they appear spooky.
She claims that a 19 year old female, "Megan" was murdered by "an occult member" and that the owner of the doll claims that her daughter's soul is inside the doll.

1. I looked up on Google the query "megan runaway occult murder 17" and what a non-shock to see there was nothing fitting anything about what this seller is trying to sell you.
2. If the daughters soul is somehow stuck inside a doll, then why would any mother sell her daughters soul?

Right now as I post this, there is about 10 hours left on the auction, and the price for the doll and the soul of Megan is listed at US $41.00.

The following is the description of the item up for bid.

WHEN I WAS FIRST APPROACHED BY THE OWNER OF THIS DOLL I WAS NOT SURE WHAT TO EXPECT. AFTER HAVING IT WITH ME FOR 2 WEEKS THERE WAS NO SIGN OF ANY ACTIVITY. I STARTED TO WONDER ABOUT THE CREDENTIAL OF THE OWNER. SHE SEEMED VERY CONFIDENT ABOUT HER DOLL AND SHE WAS TRULY IN MY OPINION SCARED. SO, A FEW DAYS AGO I HAD A PSYCHIC RESEARCHER EVALUATE THE DOLL. HER FINDINGS WERE SUBSTANTIAL ENOUGH THAT I TOOK BACK MY FIRST OPINION ABOUT THE OWNER AND DOLL.
THE PSYCHIC EXAMINED THE DOLL FOR ANY SIGNS IT HAD BEEN TAMPERED WITH. THERE WERE NONE..IT WAS JUST AN OLD DOLL DRESSED IN ORIGINAL WEDDING CLOTHES AND SHOES.SHE PUT THE DOLL IN A ROOM AND HAD SET UP A DIGITAL CAMERA WITH MOTION SENSOR. WE ALSO TOOK A TAPE RECORDER AND PLACED IT IN THE ROOM. WE LEFT THE ROOM AND WAITED ABOUT 2 HOURS. AFTER THE 2 HOURS WERE OVER WE WENT BACK IN THE ROOM. WE HAD POSED THE DOLL WITH ARMS AT HER SIDE AND NOW HER ARMS WERE NOT AT HER SIDE BUT STRETCHED OUT IN FRONT OF HER AND HER FACE WAS PITTED WITH BLACK MARKS. THERE WAS A WIERD SMELL IN THE AIR. IT WAS A VERY SICKENING BURNT SWEET SMELL ...LIKE BURNED HAIR AND CANDY. THE PHOTO I HAVE POSTED HERE ON EBAY ARE THE ONES THAT WERE TAKEN BY THE PSYCHIC INVESTIGATOR THAT DAY. THERE IS DEFINITELY EVIDENCE OF PARANORMAL ACTIVITY AND SIGNS OF AN APPARITION COMING OUT THROUGH THE DOLL. I HAVE CONTACTED THE OWNER TO TELL HER ABOUT OUR FINDINGS. SHE HAS ASKED ME TO GET RID OF THE DOLL FOR HER. HER VOICE SOUNDED SHAKY, BUT RECEIVED THAT THE DOLL WAS NOT COMING BACK TO HER HOME. I HAVE PUT THE DOLL ON EBAY FOR ALL TO SEE. I AM NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO SAY OR TELL YOU ABOUT HER...ONLY THAT ACTIVITY HAS INCREASED AND SHE NOW STAYS IN THE ROOM WITH THE DOOR LOCKED.

UPDATE....11/11/04...I just wanted to update you on some information I just found out today about the doll. The woman that owns the doll came forward to shed some light on the dolls history. It was extremely hard for her to tell me about this. She stuttered and was shaking every time she tried to complete a sentence. She wanted you all to know that the doll was her teenage daughter, Megans. Her daughter had run away from home 2 years ago when she was 17 years old. She only took a few possessions with her including this doll that her mom gave to her because it was hers when she was a little girl. The woman went to tell me she had found out that Megan had been living on the streets and eating out of garbage cans. She was desperate to find her and when she did her daughter had become involved with drugs and the occult. She tried to persuade Megan to come home with her, but she would not. The woman came home without her daughter. It was almost 2 years since she had seen Megan when a policeman showed up at her door and told her that her daughter had died. She was murdered..possibly by an occult member. It was under investigation. She was escorted down to the police station where they had brought some of Megans possessions...the doll was one of them. For a long time the woman told me she hung onto the doll. It was all that was left of Megans innocence..the time when she was a happy child. Since the police found out that it was an occult memeber that murdered her daughter and that Megans belongings were found at his house shemade the decision to throw everything else away but the doll. She told me nothing bad happened at first, but she started to hear scratching sounds and felt a someone touch her arm while she was asleep. The doll was placed on a chair in the living room at night before she went to bed. In the morning the doll would be on Megans old bed. Then a neighbor had asked her to take care of their cat for a few days. The next day the cat was found dead on Megans bedroom floor with his tongue hanging out like he had been strangled. The doll was sitting up on Megans bed again. The doll turned its head and looked at her. She told me she slammed the door shut and locked it. She finally got up enough courage to unlock the door and enter the room.The doll was laying down with its eyes shut. She picked it up and locked it in a suit case. Another thing she told me was this entire time she believed that her daughters soul was in the doll. She than told me I hope God can forgive her and have mercy on her soul. I want my daughter to go to heaven..she was a good girl for a very long time."
